A carVertical report costs £39.99 in the UK, or £31.99 with the code KALOGB. Bundles bring the price per car down: two reports cost £25.99 each (£20.79 with the code) and three cost £20.99 each (£16.79 with the code). All prices include VAT, and unused reports stay valid for six months.

How much is carVertical in the UK?

These are the prices on carvertical.com/gb as checked on 24 October 2026, including VAT:

  • 1 report: £39.99
  • 2 reports: £51.98 in total, which is £25.99 per report
  • 3 reports: £62.97 in total, which is £20.99 per report

Every report is the same full report. Buying a bundle doesn't change what's inside; it only lowers the price per car.

carVertical prices with the KALOGB code

KALOGB takes exactly 20% off every option:

  • 1 report: £31.99 (you save £8.00)
  • 2 reports: £41.58 in total, £20.79 per report (you save £10.40)
  • 3 reports: £50.38 in total, £16.79 per report (you save £12.59)

At the bottom end, a three-report bundle with the code costs £16.79 per car, which is less than half the £39.99 single-report price.

You apply the code by typing KALOGB into the "Voucher code" field at checkout on carvertical.com/gb. It works on single reports and on both bundles. If you'd like the full walk-through, including what to do if a code is rejected, see how to use a carVertical voucher code. The carVertical discount code page always shows the current prices.

How carVertical bundles work

Think of a bundle as report credits rather than reports on specific cars:

  1. You buy one, two or three reports. Nothing is tied to a car at this point.
  2. When you want to check a car, you enter its UK number plate or 17-character VIN and use one credit.
  3. The report is usually generated within a few minutes. You can read it online or download a PDF.
  4. Any credits you haven't used stay in your account for six months from the date of purchase. After that, carVertical's terms say they become invalid and are removed.

That six-month window is the main thing to plan around. If you're buying a car next spring, don't buy a three-pack in October.

Which bundle should you buy?

One report: you've found the car

Buy a single report if you've already viewed the car, you're close to buying, and the free checks haven't raised any doubts you can't resolve. With KALOGB that's £31.99.

Two reports: a final shortlist of two

If you're deciding between two cars, the two-pack costs £41.58 with the code, which is £22.40 less than buying two single reports with the code (£63.98). It also covers you if your first choice falls through and you need to check one more car.

Three reports: you're still comparing

The three-pack is the best value per car at £16.79 each with KALOGB. It suits you if:

  • you're comparing three similar cars, for example three 2018 Ford Focus estates from different sellers
  • you expect at least one car to fail your checks and want to move straight on to the next

Use the reliability rankings to narrow your shortlist before you spend anything. Each model page shows how often that car fails its MOT compared with the average car of the same age.

A worked example

Say you've found five possible cars online. You run the free GOV.UK MOT history check on all five and two show problems: one has a mileage reading that drops between tests, the other has a long gap with no MOT and no explanation. You drop those two. You then buy the three-pack with KALOGB for £50.38 and run a carVertical report on each of the remaining three before you travel to see them. That's £16.79 per car, and you only spend money on cars that have already passed the free checks.

Do carVertical prices change?

They can. carVertical's terms say report prices may vary with data costs, market changes, currency movements and special offers, and that the price shown at checkout before you pay is the one that applies. The figures in this guide were checked on carvertical.com/gb on 24 October 2026. Our discount code page is kept up to date if anything moves.

What the crossed-out prices and "Save" labels mean

On the bundle options you'll see a crossed-out figure and a percentage saving. carVertical explains that it calculates bundle discounts by comparing the bundle price with buying the same number of reports individually. So the crossed-out number is simply the single-report price multiplied by the number of reports. It's not what anyone pays for a bundle.

When you add a voucher code, the checkout calculates the voucher percentage on top of the bundle price. With KALOGB, that's the 20% shown in the prices above.

What's included in the price

Each report can include the following, where records exist for that car:

  • mileage readings and a check for possible rollback
  • damage records and any UK write-off category (such as Cat S or Cat N)
  • outstanding finance and other legal issues
  • a stolen-vehicle check, including UK police data
  • photos from previous adverts or auctions
  • market value, ownership timeline, specification, emissions and tax, safety, recalls and EV battery data

"Where records exist" matters. A young UK car with one keeper may come back with very little. See what's in a carVertical report for a UK car for an example.

What if the report finds nothing, or you change your mind?

Three rules protect your money:

  • No-findings reports are returned automatically. If a report has no historical data, typically in the Odometer, Damage and Timeline sections, an unused report credit is added back to your account straight away. It stays valid for six months from the original purchase date.
  • Other returns within 30 days. If a report has errors or you didn't receive it, you can ask for a return within 30 days of generating it by emailing support with the VIN, purchase date and a short explanation.
  • Unused reports can be cancelled within 14 days. carVertical's terms give you 14 days from purchase to cancel unused reports for a refund. If you cancel part of a bundle, the refund is worked out proportionally, minus the bundle discount and reasonable admin costs. Reports you've already generated can't be cancelled.

Is carVertical expensive?

Compared with a basic UK-only history check, yes, a single carVertical report costs more. And some of what you need is free:

  • GOV.UK MOT history shows every MOT result for cars tested in Great Britain since 2005, with the recorded mileage at each test.
  • The DVLA vehicle enquiry service shows tax status, MOT expiry, first registration date, CO2 emissions and when the V5C logbook was last issued.

Where carVertical earns its price is on imported cars (records from other countries), old listing photos, the market valuation and the bundle pricing for comparing cars. If you're checking a UK-only car with a clean MOT history, start with the free checks covered in our free car check guide.

Do the free GOV.UK checks on every car first. Only spend a carVertical credit on the cars that pass them. It's the simplest way to make a three-pack last.

How to pay

Card payment is the standard option on the UK checkout. carVertical says other methods, such as PayPal, vary by region, and whatever is available to you is shown at checkout. Reports appear in your account once payment is confirmed, and you can download an invoice from your account until the tenth day of the month after purchase.
